  1. Dhokla or Dhokra is a vegetarian food item that originates from the Indian state of Gujarat. It is made with gram flour. It can be eaten for breakfast, as a main course, as a side dish or as a snack. It can usually be bought from a sweet shop. 
  2. Rasgulla is a cheese-based, syrupy sweet dish originally from the Indian state of Odisha. Rosogolla of West Bengal is equally popular.
  3. Dosa is a very popular dish in the southern Indian states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, as well as being popular in Sri Lanka and Singapore. It is eaten by the making the combination with Sambar or Sambhar or Sambaaru.
  4. Pao-Bhaji is a Maharashtrian fast food dish that originated in Mumbai cuisine. It is native to Mumbai and has now become popular in most metropolitan areas in India, especially in those of central and western Indian states such as Gujarat and Karnataka.
  5. Makki-ki-roti is flat North Indian bread made from corn flour. Like most rotis in Indian and Pakistani cuisine, it is baked on a tava. Sarson-ka-saag is a popular curry in the Punjab region of Pakistan and India made from mustard leaves (sarson) and spices.
  6. Gattas or ‘gatte’ are gram flour dumplings that are spiced up with dry masalas and then steamed and cut into small bite sized pieces. They are used to make a wide variety of dishes like subji, pulao etc. This dish is made using a yoghurt based gravy and dry masalas to create a mouth-watering recipe that will complement both rice and parathas. Another version of the gatte ki kadhi is made using an onion and tomato based gravy is usually prepared in the winter when vegetables are easily available.
  7. Yogurt or Yoghurt or Yoghourt or Dahi is a dairy product produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. The bacteria used to make yogurt are known as "yogurt cultures". Jalebi is a sweet popular in countries of the Indian Subcontinent such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh as well as many other countries in the Middle East and North Africa, like Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco. Dahi-Jalebi is a popular dish in Uttar Pradesh.
