  1. A butterfly is a mainly day-flying insect. The butterfly's life cycle consists of four parts – egg, larva, pupa and adult. Butterflies feed primarily on nectar from flowers.
  2. Ladybird (the United Kingdom) is also known as ladybug (the United States of America). The ladybirds are found worldwide. They are commonly yellow, orange or red with small black spots on their wing covers.
  3. Ants are social insects. They live in a colony. They have colonised almost every landmass on Earth.  They attack and defend themselves by biting.
  4. A dragonfly is an insect. Dragonflies possess six legs (like any other insect), but most of them cannot walk well. Dragonflies are among the fastest flying insects in the world.
  5. Honeybees are known for the production and storage of honey. The male of honeybee is known as the Drone.
  6. An earthworm is a tube-shaped animal commonly found in soil. It eats dead leaves and soil.
  7. Crickets are insects. They are related to grasshoppers. They are harmless to humans.
  8. Cockroaches are insects. They live in a wide range of environments around the world. They are one of the most commonly noted household pest insects.
