1. Cardiology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart be it human or animal. Physicians who specialise in this field of medicine are called cardiologists.

2. Orthopaedist is a specialist in correcting deformities of the skeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

3. Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the nervous system. A neurologist is a physician specializing in neurology and trained to investigate, or diagnose and treat neurological disorders.

4. Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine that deals with the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the eye. An ophthalmologist is a specialist in medical and surgical eye problems.

5. Gynaecology or gynecology is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive systems and the breasts.

6. Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the study of normal kidney function, kidney problems, the treatment of kidney problems and renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation). A physician who has undertaken additional training to become an expert in nephrology may call themselves a nephrologist or renal physician.

7. The term pathology itself may be used broadly to refer to the study of disease in general, incorporating a wide range of bioscience research fields and medical practices. A physician practicing pathology is called a pathologist.
