1. Golkonda or Golla konda (shepherd's hill) is situated 11 km west of Hyderabad. The 13th century Golkonda Fort was built by the Kakatiya kings of Warangal.

2. The Gulbarga Fort is located in Gulbarga City in the Gulbarga district of North Karnataka. It was originally built by 1347 by Al-ud-din Bahmani of the Bahmani Dynasty.

3. Fort William is a fort built in Calcutta (now Kolkata) on the Eastern banks of the River Hooghly. It was named after KingWilliam III of England.

4. Amber Fort is also spelt and pronounced as Amer Fort. It is located in Amer (a town with an area of 4 square kilometers and 11 kilometres  from Jaipur. It is one of the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill. It was built by Raja Man Singh I.

5. Fort Aguada and its Lighthouse is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguesefort standing in GoaIndia. The fort was constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas

6. Raigad or Raigarh is a hill fortress situated in the modern day Raigarh district of MaharashtraIndia. The Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj made the fort his capital in 1674 when he was crowned King of a Maratha Kingdom.
