  1. The eyes are sense organs that detect light.
  2. The skin is the soft outer covering of vertebrates (animals with backbone including human). In humans, the skin located under the eyes and around the eyelids is the thinnest skin in the body at 0.5 mm thick and the skin on the palms and the soles of the feet is 4 mm thick and the thickest skin in the body.
  3. The ears are the sense organs that detect sounds. They not only receive sounds, but also aid in balance and body position.
  4. The nose is the organ that helps us to smell. In humans the nose is located centrally on the face.
  5. The tongue is the primary organ of taste. The tongue also serves as a natural means of cleaning one's teeth.
