Book 1: Chapter 21 – Our Clothes
  1.  A sari or saree is a strip of unstitched cloth, worn by females. It is popular in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Burma, Malaysia, and Singapore.
  2. Shalwar kameez - alternatively salwar kameez or shalwar qameez - is a traditional dress worn by both women and men in South Asia and Central Asia. Shalwar are loose pajama-like trousers while kameez is a long shirt.
  3. A shawl is a simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head.
  4. A t-shirt is a style of shirt. A t-shirt is button-less and collarless, usually with short sleeves and frequently a round neck line.
  5. A shirt is a cloth garment for the upper body of men. It is also worn by women.
  6. A frock is a girl's or woman's dress. It is a one-piece garment.
  7. Shorts are worn by both men and women. They are called "shorts" because they are a shortened version of trousers.
  8. Trousers are an item of clothing worn from the waist to the ankles, covering both legs separately. The word trousers is used in the UK and Ireland, but some other English-speaking countries such as Canada, South Africa and the United States can also refer to such items of clothing as pants.
